    Korean War ID Bracelet

My wife and I got a pleasant surprise this afternoon when we found her father's ID bracelet in a box of memorabilia. She had assumed all his military items were lost when he passed away and his 2nd wife disappeared from all our lives.

Now it's obvious they were still in use during Korea as that is when he served but every single mention I see of them refers them as WWII items which were then worn in the 40's as jewelry showing they served.

His is more simple than most, it's the standard heavy sterling silver chain with the thick curved engraved plate but he only got his first two initials and his last name on it. Nothing on the back. The one other that I have has the next of kin and address on the back.

Basically only talking 5-6 years here and many servicemen from WWII also served in Korea so it makes sense they would be continued but the no references has me perplexed.
