I got this band in a lot i acquired and at first i didn't know what it was.
After looking through Skennerton's i found out that the No8 Mk I and 7.62mm Enfield Envoy used them.
Now what i'm wondering is was it used on other rifles like the L39A1 or the L42A1 ?
Does it look real to you guys or is it a reproduction ?
It's stamped CR 320 TORBINIA 1971
And is this something rare, relatively rare ?

It is certainly not an L39 or L42 band, the band on the L39/L42 is part number CR411 (NOT CR320)

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Its a No8/Envoy front band that fits the fat beavertail forend they use.
L39 and L42 use standard No4 bands on their cut-down No4 forends.
Torbinia appears on some No8 bands and appears to be a genuine sub-contractor that produced a small batch of bands - probably because No8s themselves were built in odd batches.
A relatively scarce part, and unusual in its markings. Not many people build up Envoys or No8s from scratch, and the bands often turn up on eBay.
I've got one of these as well, sitting here on the desk. One day it'll be wanted for an Envoy or No.8 build.
It was the first time i seen one... not to mention a full line of text on a part.
I have a friend that's looking for one for his No8 build but wanted to know and make sure it was the real deal before letting him have it.
I assume that if the date 1971 is correct for manufacture; then these would be replacement parts.
Removing the front band requires quite a bit of flexing to get them off; so maybe spares would be needed.
