Well, Canadaicon also made walnut cheek rests, and we were able to draw them with a part number as late as the '70s/'80s.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Unfortunately I don't remember any markings at all. All these cheek rests were wrapped in the paper too when received. New...

The cheek piece shown my TATOU with the scalloped side is most likely an Auzzie slaz one.
I have one of those as well.
Not all Canadianicon cheek-pieces were made of walnut.
I have several in varying degrees of completion that were found in the old HCF plant when it was dismantled and trucked to the dump in the late 70's
I was given a handful of them and they appear to be pine.
I missed the boat there as I found out about it well after the plant destruction. Had I known about it I would have been there.
My 99 year old father in law worked for HCF for a while before he went overseas in WW 2 and his uncle was one of the managers.

And this kind of nonsense still continue to this day.
I have it from two different sources that CFB Longue-Pointe (Montreal) still has full boxes of NOS No4 parts in their warehouse and are destined for destruction.
Its a good bet that if they still have some surplus other Bases must too.
