    Back on My Beloved Skis!

Well, things start looking almost normal again. Back on my skis after almost two years, and in such a lovely day, that we could see Trieste across the sea from the track.
Not to be seen on the picture taken with my phone, but that still gives a goos idea.

question for Ovidio on Italian medals

My mother's sister married a man from Trieste who was in the Italianicon Navy on a small motor boat in 1918. The boat hit a mine and everyone who was still alive, had to swim until they found them. These were some of the medals that he had from Italy, is it possible to identify them ?

    Thanks Robert

    So…
First two medals, from left to right: first one is totally unknown to me, but I would think it is a commemorative medal for the sinking of the ship and the following rescue. The second one is again a commemorative medal from the Royal Ship Puglia, 1918. The motto says: while challenging death, I sow death. With a mine shown in the middle.
Second pair: commemorative medal for the 50 years from the end of WWI and, on the right, the Croce dell’Ordine di Vittorio Veneto. All veterans who had the right or were in the conditions to attain the War Cross could make request for it from 1968. They received the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine di Vittorio Veneto and a yearly check of 60.000 £ (Italianicon Lire) until death. My Grandpa had that too.
