G11 Serial Numbers - Why is one of the numbers reversed?

I have finally had some time to disassemble, clean and service the K31 and G11 I picked up a couple of weeks ago. The G11 is truly beautiful and the Swissicon craftsmanship is off the charts for a rifle manufactured in 1912. This rifle also had the soldier tag under its buttstock plate (as did my K31). I believe this gun may have matching numbers (butt-plate, front BB, rear BB, magazine, trigger guard, trigger, bolt, stock, handguard, barrel and receiver). I noticed there was also a different 3-digit number on the sight and the sight slider. I have two questions:

    1. Are the numbers on the sight supposed to match the other numbers as on the K98kicon?

    2. One of the 3-digit serial numbers on the trigger guard has one number (the "3") stamped backwards. Any idea why or if this is normal?

    Thanks!

Numbers should match but it isn't a big deal.

As to the '3' digit stamp being backwards, likely just put it in backwards and either let it go or didn't realize it at the time.

Thanks, I list that condition on my inventory so if I ever sell or trade the gun, I represent it properly.

Numbers on rear sight are assembly numbers, not intended to match rifle serial.
