    Israeli No.32 scope

Does any one know how to strip the scope as I have one with a stuck windage dial.

    They are not really DIY.

I know of only one person in the UKicon with the knowledge, skills and parts, but I'm not sure if he is still doing them.
There may be another 'odd one' but I'm not sure who it would be.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

how is it stuck, and how far have you gone in repairs ???
The design in the Germanicon rotating plate system.
Could I bother you for a photo of the scope to my PM?
I have a couple of them and have been tracking and researching them for years.
I even stood in front of the building in Tel Aviv where they were made in by Emanuel Goldburg.
His sister, who was still alive at the time, was a wealth of info on the scope manufacture.
If you really want to read an interesting biography, check out Emanuel Goldburg.
When I started to research the Israeli scope I got into his life story and it is amazing....the original James Bond

I've got a couple as well Warren, if you want the details. They both need attention too, & I've been psyching myself up to try & get them apart! One just needs a clean & the other needs the cross wire replacing IIRC.........

You are welcome to pics if of any use..........they're of little interest to me, being both non-Commonwealth & post WW2.

Roger and others with Israeli scopes:
Any info I can accumulate on the Israeli scopes is appreciated.
Even a simple photograph of the markings is a help
As I stated a couple of years ago, I want to do a small treatise on the Israeli scope but it has been like pushing a rope uphill.
Other than one or two of the usual suspects contributing, there has been very little information shared.
Drop me a PM with an email address and I can and will contact you if you want to keep it off the board.
    cheers,
    Warren

Is this the Dr. Emanuel Goldberg associated with Zeiss Ikon? Do you have a link to a biography Warren?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

I've done a couple as I recall, under a bit of pressure as I recall. They are strippable but if you need a part, it's make and mend. As for the optical train it's a bit like the REL Mk1's......... replace as a set!

Send me the worst one Roger.

There is an excellent book on Goldberg called :Emanual Goldberg and his Knowledge Machine. by Michael Buckland
You can sometimes find it on the discount book seller sites cheap and I do mean cheap!!!
I have bought several copies over the years as gifts to people in the optical industry and who have helped me with problems with lenses etc.
    Most found it absolutely fascinating...
An acquaintance of mine in Israel at the IDF museum interviewed Goldberg's sister for me when I first started looking into the Israeli scopes.
The scope is no comparison to the No.32 scope (any Mk.) and mechanically could be described as a Mickey Mouse scope, but it did the job.
The lenses were actually ground out of store front window plate glass,
That might explain the problem with that last bit of clarity in the optics that is not there.
The scope is a real pig to work on.
