    Arisaka Type 2 paratrooper model

    Good day,
    I’m a M1icon Garand collector, who happened across a type 2.
Mum is ground off, bolt does not match serial number on receiver.
All other numbers are correctly matched.
Guess my question is this...are these rare firearms in any condition or do they come up being all matching with mum intact?
    I’ll try to add photos...
    Best,
    Chris

    Arisaka Type 2 paratrooper model

They made about 22,000 Type 2 rifles…not rare but I’d say uncommon. It’s hard to say how many matched with mum but many were scrubbed. The bolt not matching hurts the value a little. How’s the overall condition? I’d like to see pictures as well…we all like pictures!

If you can afford it, buy it. As J-Rod said, they only made 22k. For 1 of 22k, I would forgive the mismatched bolt number! The weird thing is I actually ran across an original canvas sling with the quick connect rings that was in excellent condition a month or two ago. It was on a Type 38 I refurbished for a friend and he wouldn't sell it. Can't really blame him!
