    Sterling 10 round magazine

I recently bought a Sterling 10 round magazine but although it takes 10 rounds it is significantly shorter than the standard 10 round magazines. It doesn't look like it is a fake one but could it be for a Star Wars blaster? Or did Sterling make some of the 10 round mags shorter which would suggest that the standard ones will take more than 10 rounds?

Maybe you could show us this one? Tens took ten rounds, when worn they might take eleven. Unless it's been cutdown from 32...there was a 15 rd made by someone.

I don't seem to be able to upload a photo. I don't have a Go Advanced button. The mag is curved and is around 9cm in length.

Sterling Advertised 10, 15 and 34 rd mags.

Looking at your photo, it doesn't match the illustrated ones, but looking at the side of the mag near your base plate, it looks like it was stamped that way.

Does your magazine have any markings on the back plate? I suspect it is either a Chileanicon PAF magazine, or an Indian IA1 magazine.

UKicon Patents implies it is Sterling manufactured.

Thank you for your input. Based on other research I have also concluded that it is probably a Sterling made mag. Perhaps it was a trial mag or made at the specific request of a customer. I wonder how many others are out there? It is interesting that it takes 10 rounds but is much smaller than the traditional 10 round mag. I wonder if the spring is different to allow the rounds to be inserted? And then the question is why make a smaller mag at all? Perhaps it was to make it easier to conceal the Sterling? Special forces? Its a pity Peter Laidlericon, the guru on Sterlings, is unable to comment.
