WRA Barrels' Scars From What- Thoughts? ASAP

Just and I mean Just found this Loose barrel for sale. Ending very soon, as in under 1 hour. I'm considering to replacement a Blue Sky BA barrel that swallows a M2 round to beyond brass and causing major swelling / bulging of the spent case, so chamber definitely wobbled out.
Look at these 2 pictures. Any opinions as to how these scars appeared.
My first thought was aggressive use of a jointed cleaning rod, but I'm not sure the more I look.

Opinions on these Scars and if they'd affect accuracy. This Barrel measures a 2 on a CMPicon Gage.

    Thx,

Sorry, didn't see this come up until after supper - probably couldn't help you much anyway. Looks like pits and corrosion to me. Did they let you see the external surface of the barrel at all - and what's the deal with the copper colored crown? - Bob

Too late for me here too but I agree. Those are pits and deep rot.

I have seen this “style” of damage several times, and regret to have to say that those scars look like the result of a barrel with a rusted front end being scoured out by a wire brush rotated in a drill.

I hope you didn’t buy it.

It was listed by a friend. I seen it an hour before it closed. Tried calling him, but went to voice mail.
I have extra barrels, but are too nice for the shooter with the BA blue sky.

    Thx Guys,
