Several years ago a friend, Heather, a soccer Mom, with three young boys, would come out to the farm because she was enamored with my horses. One day another friend and I were shooting Garands at my range on one side of the farm while Heather and the horses were on the other side. Heather had anti-gun tendencies, probably because of her protectiveness of her boys. I called Heather over to the range, we explained what the M1icon was and that boys not a lot older than hers carried rifles like these all over the world in days passed. We then set her down at the bench with ear muffs and a shoulder pad, outlined the sight picture, loaded the rifle and told her to commence firing. After the first shot she looked at me and said, "That's empowering!" I told her to keep firing. After the clip ejected, she said, "Can I have that paper?" I said, "You mean the target?" She and the boys were due at a soccer game that evening and she wanted to take along her target to show the other parents. One M1 clip and her anti-gun tendencies were ejected right along with the clip!

How do you get your M1icon to stack the brass so neatly beside you?
    Regards, Jim

I use a schuster adjustable plug, or a 10 year old. The schuster is opened up until it just barely doesn't eject the brass...like a 1/4 cycle. I found the accuracy doesn't suffer too much...in fact I have a nicely tuned load for this. The accuracy suffered big time when I just fired without a plug at all.

When they see the skill it takes to keep those pills in the X ring at a 1000yds and the comradery among us at the club the opinion shifts from gun totin' lunatics to it really is difficult and challenging to do at least thats what I've observed from giving them a go at it from a 1000.
