Shell Case Bought As A "Gong"

A while ago I purchased this shell case from an antique shop with a hook screwed in the end and it had obviously been used as a "gong" of some sort. The hole at the top varies between around 75mm and around 76mm and so it could be for a shell of either of these sizes or a 3" shell (76.2mm). It is about 11.5" / 292mm long. At the "head-end" it measures 103.2mm on the outside of the rim and around 95 mm on the case. Although there have been markings on the end it is difficult to make anything out other than a 19.

Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated, please.

    Many thanks.

Thanks Woodsy. I have one of those shell cases but this one is 2.5" longer than the one used in the Alvis armoured personnel carrier/light tank.

Please see the attached pics to clarify.
