Anyone tried the Lehigh .85 Gr Xtreme Cavitator in Carbine?

Maybe someone posted about these and I missed it.
I'm curious about trying some reloads using these for the Carbine....
Wondering about any feed issues or any other problems.

I see the Underwood Ammo maker uses these in some of their loads.
But for the price I figure I could load my own.

Anyone tried the pricey Underwood Carbine Ammo?
Last listed @ $37.50 a box of 20, + Ship and Tax. But currently out of stock... So maybe more $$ when they appear again.

Charlie, Last week I did try a new loading for the 30 carbine cartridge, I had some 7,62x25 Soviet full jacket pulled bullets which
are around 86 grs and 5.7 grs of Unique powder. I used a weapon of my own design built many years ago along the same profile
as the French MAT 49 smg, only semi auto. I am not that interested in the 9x19mm so I used the 30M1 carb cartridge.

Anyway the reloads using Unique worked without any problems, even used some 100 gr half jackets which as worked without any
problems. Now I will try the reloads in my 1943 NPM carbine this week.

I haven't tried the Underwood ammo but it looks interesting. From the projectile design, it looks to me they would be a big chance of the bullet getting caught on the collar underneath the sloped pedals we will call them coming down from the square nose. They may feed just fine but it looks like it would be unreliable feeding to me. Their ad says that they were tested in all the most popular firearms in that caliber so surely they would have tested the carbine but it doesn't mention reliability in their ad. Hopefully someone will chime in that has already used these. These projectiles are starting to resemble various screwdriver tips haha

Meaning Speer "plinkers" or something else? I've got a few of those to try (some day!) in my Remington '03 and have been wondering if they would work in a Carbine. Speer #12 lists using them with an OAL of 1.625" - Bob

I think if you have the right magazine, such as a single-stack, they will feed. I shoot Mauser bullets at OAL’s down at that length. Never have been moved to purchase the screwdriver bits.

I agree Floyd, I was just curious if any of the locals had tried them.
FMJ's have been good to me. Imagine when a jury is read the description off a box of bullets designed for 'Deep Extensive Penetration' ?

I was looking in to these styles because of a friend with a Walther PP in .32ACP that is using Fiochi (sp?) 73 gr that are running at 1,000+ fps. I assume they are +P.
I'm worried they might be hard on it. He's wanting some .85gr Hornady HTP's loaded for it, but I can't believe they'd expand. So I plan on loaded those just for range/target bullets.
Thus my thinking on trying some of these 'Screw Bits' in a 55gr for penetration in his PP back up. Running about ~850fps to ~900fps tends to give the best accuracy per my notes for 71 gr FMJ.
With (If) I try the 55gr 'Screw Driver Bits' I'd have to test for the sweet spot.

I wonder how these would do with loads of 2400 or slower? Also would these things be accurate with that shape at say 100 yds? I see that they work with pistol powders like Unique/
