French Kepi, need help with this one

Yard sale pickup today. I have it identified as a Frenchicon Army kepi, infantry. Beyond that, I know nothing. How old it is, period? Rank, what does the top design means? Any help would be appreciated. It seems to be in very good shape.

Might be for a 2nd lieutenant.

Likely post 1959 due to ordnance bomb rather than regiment number. That's disappointing, I was hoping it was WWII but the condition is likely too good for that.

Are you sure it isn't Foreign Legion?

I don't think so. They used white. Originally, they had blue but put white covers on them. With this one most likely being a late date, they did away with the covers and just made them white from the start.

Come now, anyone who's read Simon Murray should know that NCO's wear the blue kepis.

You may be right about the originals being just covers Aragon, but I believe the "kepis blanc" was on issue by the 1930s if not before.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Much changes, much remains the same.

I can't say, I've learned some but not all. This is a junior lieutenants cap. Could be infantry, could be Foreign Legion I guess. The one gold band at the top denotes the rank. A full lieutenant would have two bands and each succeeding rank another or another type.

Only time I have seen those worn, were by FFL Officers if that helps possibly 40/50/60's issue.

I do have to admit a Frenchicon Foreign Legion hat is more interesting than a French Infantry hat. When I do image searches, there are more under FFL than FI but that might be because everyone wants an FFL hat.

Still pretty sure it's standard Frenchicon Infantry. The emblem on an FFL has a hollow center and the side buttons actually say Legion along with something I can't make out on them.
