    WWII Japanese Sword

I have a Japaneseicon sword from WWII and I would love to know more about it. It is in fairly rough shape. I always understood it was a guys family family sword, but that may be myth.

I do not believe that there are many people here that read or understand Japaneseicon, unfortunately, and so it is probably worth posting pictures of the whole sword.

It could be a lot older than WW2 if it was a "family sword".

I did some research at one time...these sites were helpful for what I was looking for (my father-in-laws WWII bring back "shin gunto").

Lots of info out there...this could easily be a separate hobby for someone interested enough.

This is a good "message board" but you have to join...
