    M84 scope real or repro

Any opinion on this scope being real or repro? It does not have a data plate but based upon some of the characteristics I see it appears to be real or possibly an assembled scope from Sarco? The glass is clear with only one fleck inside. Comments welcome. I purchased it as repro but when I got it thought it could be real. I’m not home to compare it with others I have. Regards

My guess would be Repro because of the lack of data plate. We recently did an article in the GCAicon Journal on the new repros and all the tells we mentioned were on the plate. If you are trying to pass it off as original, that would have to go.

Thanks Bob, I purchased it as a repro for a good price but when it came it has some old Germanicon mounts, post war and it came in an old German scope or something wool pouch as shown. I’m sort of in the process of moving so my GCAicon journals are scattered about, do you recall what issue? This has non serifed 1’s, beveled or rounded knobs, the caps look old, and the sunscreen end is more rounded than the repro’s I’ve noticed on the web. A quick search on the CMPicon forum also says the letter, R L are normally not on bottom for repro’s. As pictured these are on the bottom. I know repro’s are getting better, so I’m headed over to a friends house to compare. Thank you for the reply, Curt
