    Lithgow Technical Brochures

    Bellow is a selection of Technical Brochures issued by Lithgowicon SAF for those customers that were going to do their own repairs on the rifles.

    The earliest version I have is the red folder dated 1966
    The what appears to be circa 1982 edition
    Then a 1984 edition I only surmise the dates of the last two from the name of the department of supply that's listed in the back, But basically there is no change in the content.

    The Supplement dates from 1977 and goes into more in depth detail of repairs.

    Does anyone else have any other variations? I know there is a version with a plastic slip and there are reprints done by TAPCO, back in the early 2000.

    I also have the Tech Brochure published March '75, and the Supplement dated December '77, good reference for tools etc.

    I also found (when we were allowed to own them...) that Skennertonicon's SAIS #12 "7.62mm L1 and C1 F.A.L. Rifles" handy for parts, and alternatives, identification and nomenclature.

    Hi Kevin,
    Thought that might elicit a response...
    The Technical Brochure (cover the same as yours, plastic cover with clear 'circle' over SAF logo on Title page), undated on Title page ;
    The Technical Brochure Supplement (cover same as yours), has "December 1977" in the 'prepared by' section of the Title page, and below that, "Note: This document is a supplement to the Technical Brochure published and distributed after March, 1975". As an aside, the Supplement has a price sticker for $15.00 on the inside front cover.

    Kevin,
    Good detective work on isolating production dates.
    Interesting that they were never ISBN type publications, apparently only for 'internal' use, not generally available.
