Is that 26th Inf on the E7's shoulder?

Are the two holes on the side of the stock from where a grenade launcher site was previously installed? It looks like the disc shaped mount has been taken off the stock, leaving the two holes to me

that type of blank adopter was from the late 1950's - early 1960's (I have one but never thought to take a photo)

I had one of those back in the '80s got 1000 blanks for $10.00 took my most beat-up blue sky Garand out back to the local farmer's dump and proceeded to blast away. Halfway through the second clip rifle stopped cycling on closer inspection I had launched the gas cylinder, B F A and gas cylinder lock screw off into the wild blue yonder never to be seen again
