    1992 gp11?

I just won 200 rounds at auction. Most is ‘83 but some are dated 1992. I was hoping someone has experience shooting this date ammo and care provide feedback as to performance/comparison with the older stuff?

Also, I still have two bricks of ‘79 dated GP11 with the wax ring. I’m holding onto this for some reason. Was wondering if others are considering this to be better quality than the UN-wax ringed ammo? Is it considered of a higher collectible value than the others?

I wouldn't say there is particular collector value to any of those rounds. I suspect they shall all shoot the same, as it is Swissicon made and they spent a lot of time making basically the finest quality service ammo to ever be issued. I have shot 70s and 80s dated rounds and never noticed any difference in the ammo, it all goes bang and all shoots where its aimed as long as I do my part.

From a personal standpoint I usually keep a couple different variations of those rounds around (wax ring, no wax ring), just for my own curiosity not because of any value attached to either.

We have a good spread by the years of GP 11 ammunition here and I have noted no difference whatsoever between the oldest in the newest on our chronometers or performance.
The fabled "wax ring" was for long-term storage, nothing more.

I appreciate the replies. Being is I haven’t seen any wax ring ammo in years other than the two bricks that I still have, I’ll probably hang onto them, as was mentioned… For curiosity sake.
