    CNo.7 on Gunbroker

    Hello everyone.

I just saw this listing on Gunbroker, the receiver appears to have been "scrubbed"? and the marquee info is written in electro pencil. The font looks weird and no year of manufacture.
The rest of the rifle appears to be legitimate and serial number is 2L9008

What's your opinion of this particular rifle?

    Faked markings.
Looks to be a Long Branch No4 which had the markings scrubbed and new markings added.

The markings on the body aren't even close to the markings on an original. It's a faked No.4Mk.1* body.

The markings look to have been done wit a CNC.

I wonder if the barrel is solid or sleeved? Enlarging the photos of the muzzle, I can't tell if bayonet lugs have been turned off.

No bayonet lugs, machined off I would assume, good grief and I thought the UKicon was bad enough for "re-imagined rifles" !

Actually C.No7's do not have bayonet lugs on the barrel, hence the source of Tiriaq's question.

someone may have sourced a real C.No7 barrel and re-marked the action....or sleeved a .303 barrel and turned the lugs off.

In addition, the serial number is well outside the real range of numbers...
