Never saw one of these before - seller claims gas trap part

One original new old stock M-1 garand rifle early war and gas trap rear sling swivel straight from arsenal package, original darker parkerized finish. The screw hole is twice as large and the hump at base. These are from a small lot of parts I picked up that came from the old redstone arsenal, there were a few treasures like this in very small quantities.See my other listings for more WW2 US M-1 garand rifle parts and accessories

Not a Gas Trap part. I believe that swivel is used on one of the M14icon stocks, E2 ?. It should have a bushing used in it also.

    Thanks, that makes sense

Missing the drawing number it did not appear to me that it was the correct time period.

    Long Screw

Hard to believe that the long screw saw EIGHT modifications, but here's a -8 !
