I've been watching. Swore my service oath to her in 1974 and never un-swore allegiance. Very sad time here now. I hope she didn't suffer at the end. She did enough during her reign. RIP.
    Regards, Jim

It is sad to see her go but she's been there forever.

Even sadder, I expect this will lead to a dissolution of the Commonwealth because She was loved, and Charles is not. Even heard as much today on the radio from an Australianicon.

A great lady, a great monarch and probably the equal of the first Elizabeth, though not so sorely tried. Sans peur et sans reproche.

I wonder if she was pushed out early as George V apparently was.

This time not so as to make the morning papers on time, but for other reasons.

Doing in the Commonwealth, like the United Kingdomicon itself, is certainly part of the larger program, so trial balloons can be expected to start rising soon enough.

Heartfelt condolences to all the UKicon/Commonwealth members at the passing of Queen Elisabeth. Her poise and calming demeanor will be sorely missed by all.

She had a wonderful sense of humour.

I reflect on her part with James Bond in the freefall from a helicopter sketch over London, and also a peice for all the children, the Paddington Bear Tea party with her in Buckingham Palace, but her finest moment was when she spoke to the nation and the rest of the world as COVID came to a close, so profound, and from the heart, from someone that had seen so much tragedy in her lifetime of service and the loss of Prince Philip her best friend for so many of those years together.

Rest In Peace.......it was a pleasure to have served for you!

May sound strange but she has been there for all my life and I now feel the world will be a different place we will never see another monarch that was so loved and respected by her subjects.
For Australia I cannot say which way it will mould our future the undertones of us leaving the commonwealth have bubbled for years under the surface but seem to be the same state of affairs as Western Australia's two bids to succeed from the rest of Aus.

For what its worth it is a very sad day if my dad was still alive I am quite sure he would be heartbroken as even though he served in the RAAF in WWII for 4 years AFAIK he never became an Australianicon and retained his Britishicon citizenship.

For the Queen Sic Atur Ad Astra. ( Thus one goes to the stars : such is the way to immortality.)

    Sad day indeed.

The late Queen Elizabeth earned people's respect from all around the world, over her long reign and I am confident that our new King, King Charles 3rd, will also earn people's respect. Charles has spent all his life preparing to be King and I am sure that he will be a good king.

The late Queen was a hard working royal, right into old age, and visited many places all over the UKicon and all around the world. I remember seeing her a few feet away, some years ago, on one of her "walkabouts" on a royal visit. The thing that struck me was how short she was which I hadn't really noticed before until I saw her in person. The thing that I found amusing in the minutes that we were waiting for the Queen to come walking down the street was that a number of women in the crowd around me were frantically making adjustments to their make-up and hair, even checking in mirrors that all was correct, as if the Queen was going to notice.
