    Just got this rifle look good and seem ok. I dont have a throat or muzzle gage to check condition I did use the bullet test on muzzle end. do you think it will be ok to shot our should I wait and have a smith check it. My garand and mauser shot good just like there were this one look as good. thank you for your advice.

    unless it has obvious signs of abuse or damage, no reason why its not safe.
    all GI A3,s are made from nickle steel, even if the barrel is worn out, its likely not going to be unsafe.

    The questions I would ask are: Did you buy it from someone reputable? Did they say it was ok to shoot? Can you head space the bolt yourself? If it looks seriously messed with I would be tempted to take to a gunsmith for a once over... Has to be your call, as it is your face & hands & no one here has seen the rifle.
