Japanese Bayonet, Prism Instrument XCompany

I have a type 30 bayonet made by Prism Instrument Company under Toyoda supervision. Is this an uncommon or rare maker for bayonets? It has a mix of early features (hooked guard, contoured grip) and later features (grip rivets instead of screws). Blade was roughly machined leaving machining marks. Probably was blued originally. Thanks for any info.

That one sort of made sense but I never heard of them being called what you called it. It's also under Kokura supervision.

I don't think they are a rare bayonet, but they are a less common bayonet.

The most common are the Kokura's (Tokyo) and then the Nagoya. Then the various under supervision manufacturers and finally the bottom four on the chart that are the least common.

Certain models of any of them can be considered rare as there are all sorts of combos and production traits for each so the specific bayonet determines its rarity more than who made it.

If you post a few pics, I can look it up in my book and see where it falls.
