    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.     Is he simply scrambling over the ridge or was he hit? Muzzle looks like it is plugged a bit and it appears his soles are a bit worn. IMO this photographer is in combat and it is not a staged photo opportunity.

    What is that in the air right above his left shoulder? It looks like a projectile but I don't think a projectile would show up that clear in a picture. Maybe it's a brass case fired from a person unseen to his left maybe?
