Mystery item contest (no prize but knowing you are smarter than me)

Found this item locally and am completely stumped. Obviously sights of some kind perhaps Germanicon, based on the case which looks like G-3 Magazine cases.
That's as far as I got. Internet search yielded nothing.

I humbly present this to the vast knowledge base here for the answer.

    What is this?

Looks like a night sight for (?) weapon. Possibly tritium inserts. Sight on the left clips to the front of barrel and the right sight screws to rear sight. To use, you align the three dots on the target and fire. M16icon had some similar sights but they sucked.

Agreed, a night sight. Looks like it would fit the G3 series.

Swedish M/96 Night or "Low Light" Sights

    Good Day,
Great find! You have a set of Swedishicon Mauser m/96 night/low light sights. The "G" marked case stands for "Gevär" or rifle. Similar examples produced for the AG42 are stamped "AG" followed by a 3-4 letter/number combination production code. A similar concept night sight set-up was also produced for the Swedish M45 or "K" 9mm SMG's and are marked KPIST 1b.
The m/96 rear sight ladder must be removed for installation of the night sight and is held in place with the existing ladder pin. The front night sight slips over the existing barrel and front sight. It's almost certain the original fluorescent paint in the dots expired a while ago. The rifle sights are tough to find on the market. My set is marked "G 60H" but like yours, I have seen a "G 61H" marked set.

    Regards,

    Michael

You sir are the winner. Now that you have identified the platform it seems obvious to me. I think I was too focused on Germanicon and modern. Now I wish I had bought both of them. My instincts told me it was military, so I bought it in hopes I had what it fit and well, I do. A quick internet search yielded one photo so apparently, they are somewhat unusual.
Thanks to all who played and our winner who is indeed smarter than me.
