    Vietnam era cluster bomb dummy

    SARCO is selling these cheap right now so if you want one, that's the place to go. Everyone says they are missing a piece but I suspect they just can't figure out how to put the fins back down. Loosen the screw, rubber banding them helps but isn't necessary. line them up with the bottom plate and tighten the screw back up. Pinned in place.

    I remember seeing these still littering areas in Vietnam back in the early 1990's.

    One particular memory was accidentally kicking a mortar round by a small village on the Perfume river, just outside Hue, that was just sat on a slope in long grass...

    Probably washed out of the bank in the November rains.

    I Watched it roll out of the grass and just froze for a moment. It certainly sharpens the senses.

    Still lots of uxo in situ then.
