Here is a set of the skinny Colt 7 hole 6320 handguards I am going to use. The heat shield is stainless steel, unless I am mistaken. Way too hard for aluminum.

Here's the early Colt Fiberlite stock I bought to put on the 6920. Has the N and 1 under the latch. Got lucky and got it for just over $100. They used them on the early 633s, M4s and Sporter II Lightweight Carbines

While I know they are not original to the 6920, but they are earlier Colt, so its still ALL COLT!

Picked up my Colt CR6920 today from Commiefornia 10 day gun jail. SWEET! I already changed out the fat M4 handguards for the skinny 7 hole Colt 6520 ones. My N1 Fiberite Colt stock should be here this weekend. I'll post pics when Its done. Should be just a tad over 6 pounds when finished.

If you go to buy spare parts for it just be aware that your pins are probably the large pins, not the small.hth

True, during that time period it could be either regular size pins or larger pins. Now (CR6920) they use regular size pins again.

The light weight Sporter is cool. I had one. It had an A2 upper, 1" 1/7 twist pencil barrel, and an A2 stock that was a bit shorter like the Canadianicon C7.
