    Some early Model 1903 parts

Some older photos that I have taken of early M1903 parts that (I think) are not common to find.

First is the early Rock Island rear sight leaf with the square corner slide

next is the shortened hand guard, has sight groove but without clips

next part is kind of rare, open bottom rear sight base complete

also front sight variations starting with rod bayonet

last rod bayonet in exc condition with 1905

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Around 1951, my uncle sporterized Rock Island Arsenal 1903 Springfield serial 344453 for my father. I have that weapon plus a batch of 1903 parts, most of which probably came off the weapon. There are some duplicates for reasons lost to history. I have no use for these parts.
