And the "history lesson" in the description is laughable.

Unfortunately he seems to sell all these fakes for around five or $6,000. What should they go for if he were to present them correctly? Is he turning $1,000 gun into a $6,000 gun?

I always try to go with the sum of the parts. Had that rifle been set up by a reputable gunsmith, with an honest description, someone wanting a T but unable to afford one might be tempted to pay $1200. There is nothing wrong with that; to have a representative piece one can use as a daily shooter or re-enactor piece. Since that rifle has a scope modified during Israeli service, it might bring an additional $1500 (on top of the other parts/rifle cost).
So, the parts list:
Rifle-$450 to $800
Reproduction scope & mount-$500
Repro pads- $50 to $150

So a ballpark might be $1000 to $1450.

But since the rifle has had extra markings added, questionable gunsmithing, and made-up backstories, I wouldn't look twice at these abominations. Having been burned by the No5 CYP/NIC carbines back in the 90's, it hurt getting taken in by the story and BS. I hate seeing sellers like this; this is immoral and fraudulent.

Sellers like this ruin the value of legitimate rifles residing in collections, and sour a buyers experience with perhaps an initial foray into the milsurp world.

He apparently offers Japanese, and Enfield put together snipers. Buyer beware. Lack of honesty in the collecting world just seems to get worse over time. Maybe it's just my awareness is growing...

Personally I don't see anything "crude" about the scope, in fact the design of the turret and drums looks both stronger and simpler to manufacture and maintain.

Well there is only so much one can do without giving to much of the game away allowing this cretin to make even better fakers yes there is plenty on the web but there is also allot of stuff that is not on the web that a trained armourer or history buff can spot a faker.
Pretty soon he will have one that Buzz Aldrin took to the moon to combat the Vogons that were going to take us over.
We live in hope this bloke gets done for falsifying items for extra profit, buyer beware.........

I like dogs myself but the pictures of pets thing on ebay or gunbroker always gets me.

There aren't a lot of congenital liars about fortunately, but I knew one. He was a very pleasant and talented (old) gent, but he literally could not stop himself running off with the most fantastic stories. It was really a compulsion which he was on some level aware of as such. An interesting case in retrospect.
