    Vintage Brown Leather Ammo Pouch

Here's a head-scratcher. I acquired this brown leather ammo pouch and I can't figure out the country of origin. There is a name, presumably a company, stamped on the inside of the flap but I can't decipher it. Any of you good folks able to point me in the right direction and give me an idea of value?

I'm no expert by any means but the type of rivets used on your example seem to pop up on a lot of Germanicon examples of leather ammo pouches I have seen.hth

Thank you, but I couldn't find any exemplars when I searched Germanicon ammo pouch. The configuration leads me to believe it's for single shot rifles though the centre sections could be for chargers. There is a faint stamp embossed on the inside flap that looks like "CHARTERHOUSE" OR "CHARTERHOUTE" but nothing shows up in a search for Frenchicon ammo pouches. It's a headscratcher for sure.

Yes I agree, I could find nothing from Germanyicon, Belgiumicon, France or anything that had the bullet loops on the sides of the pouch like yours has. Only thing I could find similar where the rivets used to hold The belt straps to the back of the pouch. I have even looked through first world war,Indian war and the second world war and can't find one exactly like yours. Good luck

I expect that you'll find that it comes from a country that liked using "Germanicon style" equipment but couldn't afford the latest kit, somewhere like Turkeyicon, Hungry, Austriaicon, perhaps.
