Same here in NZicon since the mosque shooting in 2019. Our commie-tainted PM has demonised firearm owners, banned semi-autos and any rifle with a magazine capacity of more than 10, changed our licensing system from a 4-page questionnaire to 33 pages, and now trying to introduce fees that are simply astronomical (my Dealers Licence is currently an annual fee of $204, but is going up to over $2,000 annually). I see Canadaicon is getting it in the neck as well from a similarly tainted PM. Our constitutional rights are being trampled by these leftist zealots but all they are achieving is more disregard from the public.

Ah yes, low-hanging fruit. Much less work to point the finger at millions than it is to single out the few bad apples.

Yes our licenses went up to $85 for open rifles then we pay $400 for club supported rifles I.E you have to shoot and be a member they then went from @$70 odd dollars per additional rifle to $370 for an addition.
They also want to stop us reloading our ammunition at home, this is what our state premier is aiming at and he is ex navy! anyway thats where we are headed here in West Au.

Fortunately to date we have been protected from the vast majority of the idiocy through our 2nd Amendment.

It will not go well if they ever try any of the things going around elsewhere and I suspect they know it, even though some keep trying.

Good or bad, our culture has pretty much always revolved around guns, and we remain extremely well-armed. They are powerless to make anything overly difficult or expensive with our current court which has done nothing but tear down regulations the various states are attempting. Some states just keep doubling down, not sure why, they set new precedents with each failure. Oregon, I believe will no longer allow the sale of any firearm after January 1. It will not stand; they've already ruled they can't restrict ownership and the ability to purchase is part of ownership. The same state also passed magazine restriction laws based on a 51% majority yes when that only came in 3 out of 21 counties. The other 19 counties law enforcement has already announced they will not enforce it. Oddly enough, the three counties that passed it are also the three counties that have been pounded by constant rioting and lawlessness.

They've tried taxing of firearms to an unaffordable extent, shot down. They then tried ammunition because while firearm rights are guaranteed, it says nothing on the ammunition, shot down. They tried making it so you could only have it in your home and it had to be locked up. Shot down, although this one did exist for decades in places like NYC.

We have to be constantly vigilant; they keep attacking.

When I teach my Criminal Law course, my students are always amazed to learn that the first true battles of the American Revolutionary War were at Lexington and Concord and involved the government (the Britishicon monarchy) trying to take the gun/powder/ammo of the colonists so they couldn't fight back against the King's tyranny. It is such a basic lesson....

There will always be some one who will want to take your rights away or your guns. There seams to be nothing else for them to due but bother the law abiding owners of firearms.

So it goes deeper no more than 5 kgs of powder allowed at home as for cartridge collecting nothing over 20mm is allowed one shell case I have is a 5" Naval one from our Swan Class Destroyers that are decommissioned and dive wrecks now.
So hang on officer I'll just jump up on the Destroyer in my back yard here and fetch the case for you that cost me a few hundred dollars but you get to take it home or destroy for free along with other parts of the collection.
The rounds sit there gather dust get dusted looked at from time to time and are a source of pleasure for me and being able to share things with you all here, as I have said our topographical location makes cartridge collecting very hard.
I've been at it for 50 years and really don't have that much to show for it you lucky guys in the USAicon have copious amounts of gun shows to get all manner of stuff and I am genuinely jealous I think Canadaicon is the same as us here nearly from what BAR says.

Like I have said they will rue the day they disarmed us when it comes from up North as Australiaicon won't have a militia because they took all our guns from us and if they think I am just going to hand over my sniper T and other collectible rifles for nothing then I'll see them in court or send them over to Woodsy to mind.
As my wife is from N'zed, I'll move over there! it's all getting to hard and expensive..........

They're using you as a model.

They haven't come up with that one yet. Don't know how they hope to regulate you on a piece of brass... If it were a LIVE 5" shell complete it might be different.
