    Repro Finnish M39 Bayonet

I'm not a huge fan of reproduction bayonets but with this one up to $1200, it isn't happening. RTI put these on sale a month or so ago for $150 and considering most repros are going for $300-$400 even I took a chance.

It came today. Really looked like crap. Handle was rough, metal was rough, muzzle ring out of round on the outside and didn't fit the rifle. Worst of all it was deeply blued. But it's solid.

One Hallmark movie later and I have it pretty close to where I want it. It's still a repro but I think it looks pretty good. Sandpaper, a Dremel and a couple of files.

$25? Holy crap. Does he know what he has? I'm kicking myself for not paying $300 for one a couple years ago.

Hey, that ain't bad at all. The GOOD thing is that when a good deal on an original comes along, you can sell your now GOOD repro to help pay for the original.
Thanks also for your advice re the strange L1A1 type bayonet

Bayonets are his primary thing. Moth to a flame. Doesn't even have a 39. I try to walk in front of him at gun shows.
