A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. My dad was there. He is the handsome lad taking a knee to the right of the "Meat Ball"
I have an original of the photo with each of the sailors names written on the photo.
Found the photo and another with my dad admiring Rita Heyworth.

My father-in-law was assigned to the USS Wilkes-Barre CL-103 which provided support during the Okinawa Campaign. Prior he had been assigned to the USS Markab AD-21 a destroyer tender which is the same ship my father served on, the Markab also was assigned to TF-38. We don't know if they knew each other as both had passed before we married in 78', I feel unlikely as my dad was nine years older.
