I'm convinced it is a satchel charge. Other pics here today show them as well as we know from history these particular battles used lots of them. Here's pics of them in issue form. It seems more than just one here too, looks like three you can see if you look. Common issue.

Plenty of bunkers to use them on, the trick was to supress their fire so you could lob one in, or use a flame throwing tank.
One thing about the WWII pacific campaign it was brutality at another level not seen since WWI although Manchuria with the Japanese
was pretty brutal for everyone!

I understood that British made Satchel Charges came in a 37 Pattern style of bag/haversack but does anyone have any images, please?

You understand they could be made up of basic charges and put in anything available? They didn't need to be factory made...
