A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Isn't that nice? Where did you come across that, gunshow or private deal? I didn't see that offered around...

Looks like a VZ-24 front sight protector. Pretty rifle which indicates to me that someone refurbished/refinished it. Looks like a nice job with the wood.

Indeed, a Czechicon front sight protector. No Germanicon soldier did that. Has been nicely done up by a collector.

Most likely didn't have a sight protector when originally surplused. When I bought a RC a decade ago it didn't come with one or a cleaning rod. Either someone felt it looked better, or maybe they preferred it for shooting. Stock was also likely refinished by a previous owner. Still a nice rifle!
