    early cleaning kit

I checked the cleaning kit in my early Springfield 1903, it was in the rifle butt when I bought it years ago. here is a photo of the serial number and cleaning kit, note the early brush.

My question, is this the first type of cleaning kit on the 1903 rifles ?

Mines missing the brush unfortunately as I started to collect oilers but there were so many for the Lee enfields I gave it up, have a nice Thompson one and the diminutive 30 carbine one.

I think those came first and then a few went to the early M1icon rifles. My LL also had the early combination tool although the brush was shabby. The bore brush was nylon too, pre phosphor bronze...

    Rare oil can

I have a North Korean oiler which I have been told is very rare to locate. There are collectors who collect these oilers from all over the world but finding any military item from North Korea is not common.

This oil can was found in a AK47 vest that came back from Viet Nam in the 60's

To my knowledge, that is the first type of cleaning kit for the M1903 rifle.
