'28 Thompson slung, not so many left by that time of the war and a flat slider canvas sling which was just staring out...

What's the anti tank gun? US 37mm? US 58mm? Germanicon?

I saw some photos not too long ago of the Model 1928A1 with the 50rd drum being used in the pacific in the early
    months of 1945

Sure but they were getting harder to find. Hard to imagine someone holding onto a noisy drum after that amount of time. You know what they sound like when loaded, I guess in the static they would be OK.

I have no experience with that kind of drum magazine but I have several 75 round drum magazines for my AK's and it does not make a sound when loaded and under spring tension. But sounds like a box of rocks loaded without spring tension

Well, I can tell you from personal experience the Thompson drums make a definite audible Shaka-shaka-shaka when you move with them loaded and wound for action. The ammo moves lengthwise.
