I was in Louroujina in '75/'76 originally and then Nicosia(Lefkosa) and in '80 I was in Nicosia at the Ledra Palace and later up by the old airport. I've worked the whole line around Nicosia. Inside and outside the city. I know your area, I was up in the Troodos in '75. I also participated in your Dancon March in '75.
    Regards, Jim

    Yes your right.
And it sill all there! The buffer zone haven’t changed since 1974
I saw a documentary some times ago with houses
Left in a hurry. And car dealers sales windows full
Off 1974 models including Farraies. So I think
Collectors will be ready some days.

Was that in 75 or 80?
Any way It was 1 or 6 years since it was left there
Next year it had been there for 50 year?
I remember houses in our patrol area left in a hurry
Wondering if everything still is there untouched
If the houses still stand at all.

Both '75 and '80 they were in our patrol area. That was a big building called "Maple one" which had been a three story apartment with stores on the bottom and storage in the basement. The top two stories had apartments that had both been cleaned right out and some had tables still set with a meal. Coffee stains in the cups... Everything had been looted and during the years between visits everything was damaged more. The Turks had mouseholes the wall and come through, had the run of the place mostly. I'd go down and hunt them but they would withdraw through their hole to safety. The cars in the basement had been heavily vandalized by both Canadians and Turks. You can look at the whole thing on Google earth if you like, to visit now you can cross over the UNPA via bridge with a passport. Look down and see the falling down buildings.
