Finished project: Replaced the factory fixed M4 stock with a Colt N1 Fiberite CAR-15 stock and 4 position tube, and replaced the heavy factory epoxied, dual heat shield M4 handguards with CAR-15 7-hole slim handguards, both from a Colt 6420 lightweight carbine. Magazine is a Colt 30 marked "62667" that dates back to my USAF reserve days.

Knocks it down under 7 pounds, and feels better in the hand. I also replaced the horseshoe BCG with a newer Colt M16icon BCG for more reliable feeding. The safety lever is a Colt reversible one from a late 6920.

After the range results, the 6400C, loaded up with 77 grain MK262 MOD1s, has become my go-to rifle, pushing ahead of the AK and Mini-30. It is just stupid reliabl;e and more accurate with irons than any other rifle I own!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I do prefer the slim handguards...and the side sling swivel. Nice.
