Parker Hale M82 Rifles
Did a few pictures of my two Parker-Hale M82 rifles and had hoped to learn something on those.
Top rifle is serial R-30120 which I got told is listed in Parker-Hale books as
R30120 SOLD TO MR T. HALLAM 5/11/1996 FROM CANADA AS M82'S ORIGINALLY
T. Hallam means Charnwood Ordnance, for what I've been told. Note the rifle also has the rifle serial stamped on bottom of the pistol grip. I also have the handstop and bipod for it (plus open sights), but the screw head of the handstop seems to have been messed with a bit, so have to fix that first. For what I was able to understand is that this rifle therefore is one of the former Canadian M82 sniper rifles, hence if someone has a lead on a Kahles ZF69 from the Canadian contract with the correct scope rings for this rifle...
Bottom rifle is serial R-33458, listed in Parker-Hale books as
M82 ENTRY 609 and sold to a Mr T HALLAM of
Canada on the 5/11/1996
.. as posted on this forum. Not sure if this indicates that this rifle also was a former Canadian sniper rifle, but seems to have been sold to the very same person as the other rifle. It came complete with diopter rear sight as well as a Pecar variable power scope.
Would appreciate if someone could teach me whether it is possible to verify one or both as former Canadian sniper rifle.
If there is interest, I also have a PH M85 rifle, can do some pictures of this one too.

Both of those rifles are former C3 sniping rifles.
My Kahles zf69s are between 158,64x thru 158,77x.

Is the serial on bottom of the pistol grip a Canadian feature?
Not that i've seen - mostly marked in barrel channel, and a former CF sniper that i know said he put a maple leaf sticker there - can't see him doing that if there was a serial stamped there.

Georg,
Thanks for posting photos. Lucky man having two C3/M82s!
The scope rings are much easier to find than the scopes. I think some ZF69 had 1 inch diameter tubes and some had 26mm tubes. For a 1 inch diameter scope tube you will need PH RALS3 rings (L= low, 3= 1 inch) and for a 26mm you will need PH RALS 4 (4 = 26mm).
My M82 has a ZF69 with RALS3 rings. If you find a correct scope without the rings let me know as I have a few spare sets.
Did the top rifle come with it's safety catch fitted as I when I saw it listed for sale it looked like it was missing?

Promo,
As stated previously on the Parker Hale records search It did look promising that these two rifles were indeed C3's if Hallam had them.
The stamping on the pistol grip is a personal thing and not carried out by PH. Good luck on the scope search you never know.
The NATO stamp for me confirms the C3 breed with Hallam as the back up to confirm it all.
Be nice to see them when they are back to what they should be and they will fetch good money

How do I identify a Canadian contract Kahles ZF69? I've read several times those are in certain serial ranges (or do they additionally have different elevation markings versus the ZF69 for the Steyr SSG69?), but would appreciate any particular help with that.
Edit: for what I know they had a 25,6mm scope tube from factory, not 26mm. Would that nevertheless work with RALS 4 rings too?

The RALS3 (1 inch - 25.4mm) rings are the ones that should be used with the 25.6mm scopes. The RALS4 rings are best only used with the 26mm tube scopes.
The RALS4 rings can be difficult to find but the correct RALS3 rings are much more common. There are gloss painted and parkerised versions - you want the parkerised ones for a C3/M82 sniper.

One of my scopes has one of each rings on it - The shiney rounded ring, and the square anodized matt black ring (they can't per parkerized as they are aluminium).
RALS4 from the picture I took.
I could use a set of extra steel bases if anyone has a spare set.

Found this thread here where an original Canadian scope pouch is shown, as well as the matching scope to that pouch - with serial 158.666 -> Firearms - pls remove sold -Parker hale C3 clone | Snipers Hide Forum . Can anyone confirm this would be the correct serial range for Canadian scopes? Or is there even anything such as the "Canadian Serial Range" for ZF69 scopes?
Thanks for the clarification re RALS scope rings. I'll then need to find RALS3 scope rings.
