Dummy Rounds

Didn't find any threads on dummy rounds so I thought I'd ask the question. Have any of you used any of the dummy rounds that are available in the market place? If so, which manufacturers and what is your opinion of the ones you have? What't the best source of dummy rounds? Any help will be appreciated.

they have been around for years after WW2, I have 45 acp, 30M1 carbine and different 30-06 dummy rounds in my collection. The primer pocket is not drilled and without a primer. There are 30-06 dummy rounds from Denmark icon

too. Early 30-06 had the fluted case.

The kind that I saw a few years ago I believe were machined from aluminum and anodized either red or blue so that there was no question that they were not live rounds. That's what I'm looking for since I have given demonstrations in schools (with all of the appropriate approvals of course) and I'd like to be able to demonstrate the loading of a clip into the M1 icon

without someone thinking I just loaded the rifle.

"Snap cap" is the trade name. Just do a Google search on '30-06 snap cap'. It will give you several vendors to choose from.

Only one brand I would NOT recommend; the all-plastic ones from Champion's Choice. I tried some .308's in a rifle and the bullet jammed in the throat; extractor tore the rim off (these things are ALL plastic). Had to knock it out with a cleaning rod.

GI are the best. You do not need snap caps in the M-1.
