WWI German Occupation Coin and a Ghost Story

Last week I had my third significant resident ghost encounter in our house. We have not had one in many years. While this is similar to other past events which were not what I consider significant because they could have some other explanation, this cannot be explained. The ghost was very active when we first moved in. Our first experience was of it walking down the upstairs hallway. Loud boot heals on wood floors walking from the back bedrooms to the top of the stairs. We really thought someone was going to come down and it was both my wife and I sitting downstairs. Our second experience was the washing machine being moved repeatedly in the basement, the significant time 1/2 hour after I moved it back and again while we were both sitting in the living room and heard it being wrenched out of place, about 2 feet out of place. Today was less dramatic but even weirder in my opinion.

Two or three years ago my wife and I were at an antique shop northwest of Reading, PA and I bought three coins off a fellow at a flea market outside. Two German coins from WWII and one "German" coin from WWI that I believed is Austrian but never confirmed. A few days after I bought them, I decided to start doing a search on the third coin to confirm what it was or wasn't but I couldn't find it. The other two were there, but not this one. I looked for a hour or so and figured it may have fallen behind a bookcase I didn't want to unload to move. Probably two or three times since then I did a brief search for the coin when I came across the other two. Roughly two weeks ago I conducted another search with no luck. I did one other thing however and asked the ghost to help me find it. This has worked numerous times in the past and has been a go to thing when something is missing. The stuff appears, sometimes right in plain sight, sometimes even in the middle of the floor. But these things could be explained as simple carelessness or overlooking on our part. last Saturday when I came home from going to yard sales and noticed the weight in my front left pocket of my shorts. I have a cup I keep quarters in just for yard sales and I filled my pocket up with them that morning. My phone was in there also so I took the phone out, set it down and reached in to get the quarters out. I pulled them out but felt something square in my hand, looked at it and it's the missing coin from two years ago. I did not put it in my pocket. I wore these same shorts a couple of times prior to that weekend, having put the quarters in and taken them out lhe previous Saturday also. I wore them the night before and nothing was in the pocket. The coin was not in my quarters cup that morning as I dumped them into my hand first before putting them in my pocket. I also did not take the shorts off since putting them on that morning. This is super weird. The three coins are below. As you can see from the handwriting, all came from the same source. This is the missing coin.

As a follow up, I have investigated the coin, the seller is correct, it is a German coin issued for use in the occupied territories to the east including Estonia, Poland and North-West Russia which were occupied by Germany at the time.

Glad I don't have such an infestation, my wife would probably head back down south the same day. I have had issues but none she's experienced.

Interesting coins, aside of the normal Nazi issue. I've never seen the Kopek. I suspect there's far less of the silver Nazi issue around after the great silver and gold boom took place. A 900 silver coin from that regime would find the smelter quicker than many other items. Normal issue I see are the cheap zinc or tinnies or whatever they used.

I've had a enough experiences to have no doubts about other "dimensions".

Your courage is commendable, both in tolerating your house guest and in being willing to speak publicly about it!

while we are going down this route, I've been on and off restoring a large place for 10 years (as and when i make money I crack on and do a bit more), Ive had a number of odd experiences there, mostly of a nuisance nature.

Typical example, working on a ladder in one room, dropping an electrical screwdriver, only for it to disappear into thin air and me find it in another room....

Irritating, you can almost hear someone laughing, I occasionally tell them to stop taking the ****!

Another example is working on my computer in the office only to have it turned off at the wall, that's happened three times to me, once to my wife, loud footsteps up stars on occasion, but that's about it, you get used to it....

The bare bones of my property are probably early 17th century, so I shouldn't be too surprised I guess...

Maybe I will join in the fun one day ( hopefully 30 years or more) and start taking the **** out of the next owner!
