A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Lovely. When I was growing up, my father's office sat at the back of a HUGE machine shop. Whenever I went to visit I would spend time in the shop with the machinists, seeing fittings like these being machined and smelling the work oil. What a memory!

These guys are like the group in Englandicon that did the Panther up over a period of 4 years which now resides in the Queensland museum it is apparently only 1 of 6 Panthers running in the world and even though it cost $14 million GBP its worth every cent as it looks factory fresh.
The Tiger they want to get running but thats years away I have no clue on the Jagdpanther as they are both gutted and only static at this stage I have informed my wife of my desire to go to this museum next year as I have given up on going to my fathers birthplace and where he grew up in England also seeing Tiger 131 in action.

Just to get close and touch the vehicles will do me maybe I could wangle a bit of an extended tour if I get onto them outlining when we are expected to be at the venue, just things in the back of my mind since Sept 13 2020 have been eating at me to get things X'ed of the bucket list as I ain't getting any younger.

Fascinating! Especially when you realize all these intricate bits were designed and engineered with little more than a slide rule, some serious math skills, and a drafting board.

The Apollo program was driven by much the same technology, (Peenemunge hand-me-downs) plus some really 'interesting' computers.

The 'on-board' computer in the command module was about as smart as a cheap pocket calculator of current times.

Well if it rung true with hanks using the knuckles as a sight I forget the math they describe in the Pam that the degree's were between the 1st & 2nd knuckles even though the earth is a big target they could have still missed it.
Also trying to control the LEM and mothership in the burns to stay on a rough course to earth they probably could not get the the Air Medal as it was outside of the earths atmosphere.

Here is the start of its journey to down under it looks marvelous such a tribute to their efforts ~
