    FAL optics

Has anyone else replaced the thin, spring-steel bands on a ZF4 as issued for the G1?

One turned up on my bench, minus the rear band. Apparently the band had cracked years ago and that owner never got around to replacing it before it passed to the current optics buff. One of the small steel "slugs" with the M4 threaded hole, that grab the band has also "gone west", but the making of a replacement is not much of a challenge. New M4 cap screws are not an issue either. the cracked band was not in the matching carry case when I received it, either.

I am reluctant to remove the front band to flatten it out and use it for a template, but it is an option of last resort.

SO; does anyone have the actual or approximate dimensions for these bands?
