removing a stuck front sight, base. tip of the week.

as we all know, these old battle rifles saw hard use, and sometimes, we need to remove a front sight base to remove bands, or just replace the front sight.
so i put together some pictures on how to cut one off that you cant get the pin off, or cant drive it off, do to rust or other,
first, use black tape, and tape ahead and behind the base,
second, use a cut off wheel with a dremill tool, set on low. cut the bottim side of the base,
note: dont cut all the way through like i did in the picture, just notch it.
thrid. remove the tape from the front of the base, and leave the tape behind the base.
with a brass or plastic head hammer WACK IT!!, one time should do it.
    it will come right off.
remove the tape, and clean it up.
