Quick No4 Mk2 serial number questions

    Hello,

Just a few quick questions about the No4 Mk2 serial numbers.

    - Does anyone know which contracts the early serials were made for? The lists I have seen start at PF250xxx. I have a rifle at PF187xxx.

-Were order batches allocated serial ranges, but not necessary chronologically made? I have just purchased a '53 made PF373xxx but I have seen post mentioning a '55 with a PF339xxx?

    Cheers

ROF Fazakerley Mk 2 serial numbers were pretty munch consecutive up to around April 1953. After 4/53 is when the allocated batch serial number contracts start to appear as you have noticed. I am currently working on a list of observed s/n's for my No. 4 book, what month are your 187K and 373K rifles as I have a large data gap between 3/53 and 4/54?

    187K - 3/50 - Current State: Armalon Conversion
    373K - 10/53 - Current State: Bought in non-collector condition, to become 45/70 conversion
