It looks like your bayonet was made in the teens possibly 1917. It also seems to have been refurbished in 1939. Do not remove any finish please, it's not going to help you see an obliterated date stamp. What your seeing on there is it's history besides it's in great condition already. I know nothing about frogs so I can't help with that.

Thank you… That’s the advice I was looking for. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. And for the photo… I’ll be on the lookout…

Isn't that an M1917 left grip panel? I wonder how that came about.

Odds are that it's actually a P13 grip. It shows to have been refurbished in 39 so whatever was on hand? In 108 years anything can happen I guess. You know I saw that but completely missed it.

Just to clarify...the last photo in my original post (with the blue background) is NOT my bayonet...it was an internet photo for reference to the canvas frog only.
Is that the 1917 grip in question? If yes, again, that's not my bayonet Both my grips are smooth, without the 2 groves of the typical 1917 model. Sorry for the confusion.

The armorers wouldn't have done that anyway...as pointed out it's a different picture. Different bayonet.
