    Yes, I had got the idea they were not common. Although, as soon as I purchased this one, two more popped up on e-bay, one of which also looked as if it had never been painted, and it was dated 1918. Would you know if ~Angel's~ periscope has a broad arrow on it? I have seen pics of six or seven of these and haven't seen one with the stamp on it yet.

    When you get around to the telescopes for the MKLicon, I've got the pam "Section 33, The Straight Telescope". Gives full stripping & reassembly and care instructions for the Scout Regiment Telescope from I believe the late seventies here in Aus.

    I just checked her "1917 Beck" from top to bottom and no, I don't see a Broad Arrow anywhere. I think I read something about this someplace, but can't quite remember.

    Well, if it makes you feel any better, I just did as well.... my first one..

    It was a historical piece like yours that I'd never own if it wasn't, so, I went for it....
