    Refused an offer of $1000.00

So far only I know about one other person in South Americaicon with one. Nice find if you can get one. Army version is more common, in comparison. but still a tough find. I know a Mauser collector about an hour and a half drive from me with the Army version.

I have both of the Belgian ABL 1952 and the IDF .22 trainers. The ABL is unissued and is an excellent example. I picked up a complete stock set with all the metal for an ABL last year. It was on line and when I looked at it I thought it looked different. When I received better pictured I knew it was a new or near new take off stock for the ABL 1952s. It is carefully boxed up and waiting for an ABL to come along or one that has been assaulted by Bubba and needs a new stock.

    Trying to buy a F. N. Israeli K98 .22 caliber training rifle !!!!!!!!!

    Hello from N. Texas

Just saw this link on the Israeli K98 .22's

As a former US Army Ordnance Officer and a avid Mauser collector, I have been trying for decades to locate a Israeli F. N. K98 .22 training rifle in good shape. I saw one of these in a gun store in Liege, Belgiumicon in 1992, just days before my retirement.

I have been in conversation with a gentleman in Vancouver, Canadaicon that has a stash of them, but cannot sell due to the Canada firearms laws and the so called FAC.

I saw one at the huge Tulsa, Oklahoma gun show last year, but had a bent barrel.

    Had to pass on it.

I monitor most of the firearms websites and hit most of the regional gun shows in the southwest and have never seen one for sale or trade.

Does anyone, any where know of one in excellent/very good shape for inspection and possible sale ???

Looking forward to a PM reply

I now have two of the Belgian ABL 1952 .22 Mausers, and one complete FN IDF .22 trainer.
I am purchasing another FN manufactured IDF .22 but the wood has been cut back. I will have to try to find the proper wood for a restoration.
I purchased a complete stock set for the Belgian ABL 1952 a few years back on CGN and am waiting for an example to be resurrected.
They aren't of any use to install them on the IDF because the top wood encircles the rear sight of the ABL.
The IDF uses the short stock like the K98kicon.

There's one for sale now in Germanyicon. Asking price is € 500: http://egun.de/market/item.php?id=4361444

Seems like it's still in the original blueing and has never been reworked. Serial is 410, also matching on the stock.

Here are a few pictures of my FN .22 rifles.
Two at the top are Belgian ABL 1952 .22 Mausers.
The bottom rifle is a complete FN IDF .22 trainer including IDF sling.
P&S has one of the Naval .22 on its site for $850 or something like that.

How do I get the pictures on my thread as Thumbnails?

    FN Mauser in 22Lr.

I found this all matching one last year at a gun show in Cheyenne, WY. Here are a few pictures and I’m curious to hear everyone’s thoughts on it. The metal is in great shape except at the end of the barrel where the finish is worn. The stock shows its age, and had much oil soaked in that has turned parts of it darker. I left the stock out in the hot summer sun to remove the excess oil and it now looks much better.

I have an FN .22 trainer IDF like new. Bought it years ago, don't recall where. Serial 1299. I also have a Germanicon 98 converted to .22. Interesting rifles. The old German one shoots like a dream. Haven't shot the FN recently. May have to take them both out for a run.
If there ain't a gun range in heaven, then I'm going to hell.
