    M1901 Krag Sight

I went to a local gun show last fall to look for a long range ladder style sight for a long range blackpowder rifle that I am putting together and happened onto an M1901 Kragicon rear sight. It was in really good condition and complete. It has very little original finish left on it. Since then I have decided to go with a new Smith Buckhorn rear site on the rifle. That leaves me with an extra sight to sell. One thing I am wondering about is, on the ladder of the Krag sight the aiming hole moves to the left as you run the sight up the ladder. Is this to allow for the twist of the barrel in relation to the bullet travel? I really would have liked to have the Krag sight on the new rifle as you can't get a sight of that quality anymore. I just don't feel it would be right to put it on a gun that is less than a year old. Let me know if anybody is intrested in the Krag sight.

Yes the 1901 sight moved to the left as elevation was increased to compensate for gyroscopic drift the the right. Interestingly, the model 1898 sight was set up for some physically impossible drift to the left that the Kragicon allegedly had. I guess in 3 years time someone figured out that wasn't real.
